Homemade marinara anyone?
Yeah I just made this in the last few hours because I was too lazy to make it to the store. Go figure.. this recipe? The bomb.com as one of my agents says… and um, its super simple too. So next time your ass is too lazy to get to the store to buy heavy processed, sugar filled, Emeril Prego Sauce, shoot for making this divine homemade marinara.
Here’s all you need:
1- Yellow onion, chopped
3 -4 Garlic cloves, minced
1/4 C Fresh Basil, chopped
2 tablespoons, dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 -28 oz Cans of Organic Diced Tomatoes
1/4 C Balsamic vinegar
1- In a large sauce pan, sautee the diced onion with the olive oil for approx 20 minutes on a low heat. Add in the garlic, sautee for another 10 minutes on a low heart.
2- Add in the canned, diced tomatoes, fresh and dried herbs, mix well, cook on low for approx 2 hours.
3- When the sauce has reduced finish it off with a touch of balsamic vinegar or red vino and allow it to simmer for about 5 more minutes.
4- Finish off with sea salt to taste. Enjoy over a delicious bowl of buttery pasta, lasagna noodles, or whole wheat penne. Buon appetito! xx ♥ck
